Thank you for your willingness to serve - March 11, 2011
Over the past few months The Desert Breeze Elders Quorum has been called on, usually with late notice, to serve those in and out of our ward. It seems to happen oh so often that as you check your email on a Friday evening or a Saturday morning there is an email with yet again another call to serve and give up some of your precious time off either with a move or with a ward project.
I am continually amazed by the spirit and selflessness in which, each time, the Elders of our ward, answer that call with enthusiasm and vigor. The love that you each show for your fellow brothers and sisters has brought many blessings into the lives of those around as well as blessings to your family and yourselves. Much to often however, these acts of service go without a formal thank you from those whom you serve for or with. As an Elders Quorum Presidency we wanted to take this opportunity to publicly and personally say, "Thank you and you are very much appreciated. Keep up the good work!!"

Temple Attendance - "What's in if for me" -April 24, 2011
On Wednesday April 20th I had the privilege of attending a leadership meeting at the Temple. The meeting was conducted and presided over by the Temple Presidency and a member of the 70. In this meeting we were taught on the importance and blessings of regular temple attendance. One principle that was taught especially touched my heart and I thought it needed sharing:
"When we attend the Temple of God, we are entitled to and will receive revelation for our lives and for those whom we have stewardship over (Our Family) that we might not otherwise receive without regular temple attendance."
This really made an impression on me. How many times have I needed eternal guidance and missed out because of my inability to make "Regular Temple attendance", the priority in my life that it needs to be? What in my life would be more important than this? How would my family be blessed if I did a better job of prioritizing my life?
Now we all know of the blessings that are received and the joy it brings to serve our kindred dead, but I would suggest to you that the "reward of personal revelation" for regular temple attendance is a reality and one that we should not deprive ourselves or our families of because we get "busy". We need our Heavenly Fathers guidance to survive in this world. I would be interested in hearing your feedback on this subject in the form of a post.
